D'Ante Veale, born on May 12, 1984, in the vibrant heart of Washington, DC, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2024, surrounded by loved ones in the city he called home. D'Ante's life was a testament to the power of community, passion, and love.
From a young age, D'Ante exhibited an infectious zest for life. He attended James G. Birney Elementary School, where his curiosity and eagerness to learn set him apart. His journey continued at Hine Junior High School and Eastern High School, where he not only excelled academically but also discovered his love for sports and music.
D'Ante was a standout basketball player, known for his agility and sportsmanship on the court. His talent wasn't confined to athletics; he also found a second home in the Eastern High School Marching Band, where he played the drums with unmatched enthusiasm and skill. D'Ante's passion for sports extended far beyond the court. He was a die-hard Steelers fan, celebrated every win, and mourned every loss with unwavering loyalty. His love for Washington, DC's sports teams was just as fierce. Boxing matches and reality TV were just a few of his favorite pastimes, often shared with friends and family who enjoyed his insightful commentary and infectious laughter.
Family was the cornerstone of D'Ante's life. He leaves behind his devoted mother, Cynthia Veale, and her partner Dexter Collins, as well as his father, Otis Anderson and his brother, Da'Rae Veale. His legacy of love and kindness is carried on by his sisters Lattice Jones-Freeman, Tiffany Hayes, Tiffany Anderson , Tesha Anderson, and Angel Anderson and his cherished grandmother, Clara Reynolds, and a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends. D'Ante's nurturing spirit extended to his many Godchildren, each of whom he loved as his own.
D'Ante's life was a tapestry of vibrant experiences and profound connections. He was known for his big heart, his infectious smile, and his ability to bring people together. Whether it was organizing neighborhood basketball games, jamming out on his drums, or hosting lively game nights, D'Ante's presence was a beacon of joy and unity.
As we remember D'Ante, we celebrate a life lived with passion, dedication, and an unyielding love for those around him. His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. D'Ante Veale, a beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend, will be deeply missed but never forgotten. He’s preceded in death by his grandparents James B. Veale, Otis Sr and Lena Anderson, Preston Reynolds, his sister Angela Anderson, Great Grandparents Emma and Frank Gilliam, Mary and Colrain Session.
