Kendall H. Banks, born February 29, 1988, peacefully departed this life on Friday, November 8, 2024 in Maryland. Beloved son, family member and friend, Kendall is survived by his devoted mother, Angeleta “Angie” Banks; father, Douglas B. Banks; and sister Latisha Banks.

Kendall was born in Long Beach, California. He attended Chapel Forge School in Bowie, MD and graduated from C. Elizabeth Reid School in Bowie, MD in 2009.

His teachers were impressed with his many accomplishments academically. Under his mom’s tutelage he learned to write and spell-out his name, address, and phone number. Kendall also loved to write his numbers 1 to over 100. He was also an excellent swimmer and competed in Special Olympics for swimming as well as other sports. Kendall even saved his younger cousin for drowning by himself. He also participated with his school Challenge Day.

Upon graduating, Kendall went to The ARC of Prince George’s County in Largo, MD. Several years later he worked at Our Care Day Program. While attending Our Care, Kendall delivered food baskets for two different food pantry clients. He enjoyed various activities at The ARC and Our Care including bowling, swimming, movies, parks, and David & Buster’s.

Kendall participated in many extra-curricular activities before he entered Dominion Residence of Maryland residential program including Sprint Club- an exercise program for special needs individuals in Prince George’s and Montgomery counties. He particularly enjoyed the adult and teen hiking programs, arts and craft program, Spring Break Care, Day Out Camp, Aquatics, and Spring and Winter Break Camps.

As a young adult, Kendall attended Wings for All, a program sponsored by the Virginia ARC, that offered special needs individuals exposure to air travel. In addition, Kendall would also attend respite and summer away camps at Mellwood and Camp Fair Lee Manor, to name a few. Over the year he enjoyed summer vacations in Ocean City, MD and Hershey Park, PA, with his mother, family and friends.

Kendall had a love of animals including cats, dogs, horses, birds, and snakes. He had a special relationship with his cousin’s Ingrid and Larry, who he fondly enjoyed playing jokes on. Kendall also enjoyed playing tricks on his favorite Aunt Annette who used to chase him around with a fly swatter. Over the years, Kendall enjoyed celebrating birthdays at the Old Maryland Farm at Watkins Park, Kids USA Amusement Park, and pizza parties. He often went out to the movies with his mom and cousins. Kendall lived a rich full life, and we will always carry the memory of his sweet and gentle spirit in our hearts.
